Year Four's Spy
Last week, Year 4 continued their new dance topic, exploring interpretive dance and how dance can describe characters and stories without words. We have been focusing on acting like sneaky spies, using different levels and movements such as rolling across the floor and hiding actions.
We started the lesson by recapping how to count beats in songs using our own spy-themed tunes. We then worked in pairs to create action-and-reaction routines, demonstrating how we can use a variety of movements to create exciting, action-packed choreography. Examples of the movements we used include tilting while our partners leaned, pushing and falling, and spinning around one another.
Once we had finished creating our choreography, we performed to another pair to receive feedback on our unison, timing, and dynamics.
